As the sun
rose over Pretoria on 8 May 2010 the mist dissipated and
there were hustles and bustles at the Lynnwood Ridge
Park. It was the annual TCS Walkathon. The littlies were
raring to go, along with their Moms, some even pushing
siblings in prams. The challenge for the older children
was to beat last year’s record! What a fun-filled
morning we had, whizzing around the track cheered on by
parents and teachers. The largest number of laps walked
in 90 minutes was 72 – this amounted to a distance of
about 18 km! |

Delicious arrays of foods from 8
different countries – samoossas, chocolates, nachos,
briyani, crepes and kimbob, to mention but a few - were just
waiting to be tasted at the first TCS Food Festival on
Saturday, 8 May 2010. People eagerly moved between the
gaily decorated stalls run by the different classes,
tasting delicacies from France, India, Switzerland,
Belgium, Mexico, Argentina, Korea and, of course, our
own country South Africa! It was a gastronomic
experience – hopefully the forerunner of many tastebud
world tours at our school!
